Red Cross Surcharge Stamps

1942/10/04 The first issue of postal tax stamps for the Croatian Red Cross.

Designed by Oto Antonini, printed in offset and in letterpress (red cross) by Tipografija d.d. Paper thicker, white, gum white, perforation line 11. In total 530.400 stamps were printed in sheets of 24 + middle field (5 x 5). Unsold stamps were destroyed (108.205).

1943/10/03 The second issue of postal tax stamps for the Croatian Red Cross.

Designed by Ivo Režek, printed in offset and in letterpress (red cross) by Tipografija d.d. Paper white, gum white, perforation line 11 and imperforate. Printed in sheets od 100 (10 x 10). It is unknown how many stamps sheets were printed in one press sheet, at least two different types of sheets exsist. Unsold stamps were destroyed (161.315 out of 540.000 printed).
In obligatory use until 1943/10/09.
