Red Cross Surcharge Stamps

4 October 1942. The first issue of postal tax stamps for the Croatian Red Cross.

Designed by Oto Antonini, combined print (offset and letterpress) by Tipografija d.d. Paper white and thick, gum white, perforation line 11. In total, 530.400 stamps were printed in panes of 24 stamps + middle field (5 x 5 layout). Unsold stamps were destroyed (108.205).

3 October 1943. The second issue of postal tax stamps for the Croatian Red Cross.

Designed by Ivo Režek, combined print (offset and letterpress) by Tipografija d.d. Paper white, gum white, perforation line 11 and imperforate. Printed in panes od 100 stamps in 10 x 10 layout. It remains unknown how many panes were in a press sheet but at least two different panes exist. Unsold stamps were destroyed (161.315 out of 540.000 printed). In obligatory use until 9 October 1943.
