1. Issues for Vienna and Lower Austria

2 – 18 May 1945. Provisional issue for Vienna: the 1941/44 definitive issue of Germany with diagonal overprint Österreich in black color.

An additional decree of the 4th of June 1945 obligated post offices to cover Hitler’s portrait on postage stamps. The procurement of hand stamps was left to post offices.
